Guest Room Update

Vladimir and I are in the process of renovating our home and we've made a ton of progress in the past few years. However, there are still several projects that aren't quite finished. Today, I wanted to share with you our guest room progress. Before, this room looked small and drab. The molding was an ugly, greenish off-white color. The walls were scratched up and cracked. The entire room needed a pick-me-up.

To makeover this room, we started with the molding. Vladimir ripped out the floor molding and replaced it. He also added in crown molding and did beautiful corner details. We then painted the window frames a nice bright white to match. The walls were in bad shape and we did not want to go through the hassle of tearing down the walls and starting over; so we opted for wallpaper. Not just any wallpaper; a extremely strong, thick, textured wallpaper. Not only did it cover the cracks and imperfections, it actually made the walls feel better. Plus, it's just plain gorgeous! We could not be happier with the way it turned out. Here are some pictures of the room with the wallpaper and molding finished.

A friend of mine had a gorgeous wood four poster bed from Ikea that I fell in love with. I had searched the store and found that they stopped making the same model; I was devastated. One day about a month ago, she was talking about her big yard sale before she moves and mentioned that she was selling the bed. I was so elated and immediately asked if I could be the buyer! Of course she agreed and was happy to see her bed go to a good home (where she can visit it of course ;) ). We just assembled it last night, and can't wait to bring up the mattress and dress it!

I can't wait to show you the room again once it's finished! The next step is the most fun; DECORATING!

Ps. Today was day three in a row of the 30 day shred. My muscles are sore, but they burn so good! Have you done your exercise today?
