Linen Closet Makeover Pt. 1

I have been wanting to makeover our linen closet for quite some time. We are almost finished renovating the upstairs of our house, the linen closet and the bathroom being the last projects to complete. While Vlad works on the bathroom, I work on the linen closet. I've got so many ideas, but I've just gotten started.

There was nothing particularly wrong with the closet before, it was just in need of a bit of TLC. Each shelf is two pieces of wood; In the pictures above I had already taken out the second piece of wood from all the shelves except for the second from the bottom. The inside of the closet was just scratched up here and there.

I took out all of the shelves and painted inside. It's always amazing to me how much a fresh coat of paint can make a difference!
I kept seeing DIY projects about fabric shelves on Pinterest and thought they'd be perfect for this space! I went out to a couple thrift stores and decided on a gray/purple look for the shelves once I found these sheets.

I'm so excited to start on those fabric shelves! Hopefully I'll have this closet finished within the next week. I keep looking through Martha Stewart's guides for organizing and storing, getting a lot of inspiration... Here are some of my favorite links.
